My wife and I went to Basle Airport with some time for lunch. We took land roads and expected to find many decisions. We found very few before and after stopping at HR Kuentz. So we stopped without seeing us on TripAdvisor....Have an excellent lunch Carpes Frites for me and a rare roast beef salad for my wife. We experienced the owners, the very extensive renovation work in the restaurant area and rooms. Previous reviews can be quite justified, but what we have seen and experienced today deserves a 4th. More we wish the owners with their investment well. The hotel is located in a pleasant area and we hope it's okay.
a little strange restaurant tables and chairs scattered all over the place I don't know how servers can spot themselves. the maintenance of the exterior layouts leave to be desired. concerning the meal, even if the royal sauerkraut is good the price is a little excessive (20€). for the service, it leaves completely to be desired. the waitress doesn't know the map at all (type of beer pressure, etc.), when you ask for an irish coffee she answers us that it won't be possible because she doesn't know how to do it. Too bad because all these little flats come to bury the image of the restaurant. Little disappointment.
Business dinner. I knew this place to have come there several years ago. the decor has not changed, friendly and friendly staff. For my part, I took a sauerkraut. I was worried because often the sauerkrauts in the restaurants, rather average. Get down! excellent, generous and tasteful. It's good! for dessert, a nice share of homemade apple pie too very good. the other three people at the table were just as happy with their menu. We've been drinking a black pinot from Adam's very good bill. Good address to eat well.
What do you say about "in Kuentz"? First, the atmosphere: very special, if you are not advised. The menus: small menus at 25 or 35 €, rather nice. Afterwards, opinions are shared: entries are well served, but for some more than warm. dishes: some, excellent, including the bar and the butcher's room. But the "munster" cord, more than bof (see the friends who accompanied me).So maybe, to reconfirm. And why not in the beautiful days on one of the terraces?
