"Lovely location up in the mountains (easily reachable by car). Built by the famous architect Loos in the Thirties, this is a must for anyone who wants to experience the real Austria (including the food) not the tourist version. Be sure and make a reservation."

As Grandma Wurdak decided to turn her back at their "Hollhaus" in Tauplitz and to look for a new opportunity in Payerbach at Kreuzberg, she had no idea what gem she would get. The "Landhaus Khuner", which she had bought in 1959, was one of the last works of Adolf Loos, the famous architect and epicurean of the "fin de siecle" and is now the destination of many guests and gourmets. Not just because of the architecture of the Hotel-Restaurant, but also the culinary specialties of granddaughter Hanni Steiner. Formerly an insider tip, Loos Haus at Kreuzberg today is an "in-location" frequented by connoisseurs and gourmets.

Followed the signs to the Loos Haus. In the hills above Payerbach in an architectural space ( one of the last projects undertaken by Adolph Loos) is a restaurant serving an updated version of the Austrian cuisine found in every other restaurant in the Rax Alps. Well conceived and prepared, the food is of a very high standard. Service is polite and professional and the view is spectacular. Worth the trip.

A very fine dining experience- an alpine walk, meticulous smart service, sitting on the balcony enjoying a stunning view...high quality cooking with very good fresh ingredients which was a very reasonable price- not to mention the intriguing building by one of the great early modern architects. I cannot recommend this highly enough.

Built by famous Austrian architect Adolf Loos in 1928, Looshaus is of historic interest and offers stunning views of the mountains around by tis huge panorama window. Very good Austrian food, very friendly and helpful service, top wines. Can be highly recommended.
