We stopped for lunch we enjoyed a three courses lunch with a choice including first choice we had a nice pate with bread and generously garnish but could of had soup or other dishes mains Chicken ,trout or other dishes. My son and I enjoyed the grilled trout. While my wife head what she called her favorite meal of the holiday and we had had some nice meals it was mussels and fries with chocolate mouse. While I enjoyed a apple tart my son enjoyed a meringue with a sort of custard almost a runny lemon meringue pie without the base. The whole thing including my beer and a couple of soft drinks for €57.The service was good if a little old fashion. The hotel would certainly appeal to older people but...

As other reviewers may already have said, this is a small, old and traditional town hotel in St James. The restaurant offers a number of set price menus, each offering a good choice, as well as the a la carte. The food is simple and typical of the Normandy Region. I have a holiday home (which I visit for a few days most months of the year) near to the town and have been using the restaurant quite regularly for 15 years or so. The food is very reasonably priced, of good quality and well cooked. The owners are a charming couple and the serving staff are always faultless and very pleasant. This restaurant was really amusing! Beautiful cuisine ..really well cooked. The place looks like it hasn't been decorated since 1975. This didn't stop us going back. The trip to the toilet is a little odd...but I won't spoil the surprise!

Small, old and quaint hotel in St. James. The food is pretty good and service is good too. A good stopping place if you are touring the area. Typical Norman food with a good lunchtime 'Menu Ouvrier' at €11 (about £8).
