Curiously attractive large semi freshwater lake where oysters, and mussels and other shellfish are grown in rows reminiscent of a watery Viney. For the bold it is well worth seeking out these charming shell fisher men and women on the shore of the Etang de Thau. It's a slightly bumpy road to the work place but they will prepare you oysters and mussels straight from the water at prices that will make your jaw drop when you think of the prices they can fetch in restaurants and bars...
