Very good Italian food, with an usual focus on fish plates. The fish was fresh and tasty. We were there at lunchtime, it was almost empty, so even more relaxing. One tiny, silly suggestions, would be even better if the smaller, people tables were oriented to allow both people at the table to look outside the window, as there is a lovely view on the canal.Cost for main courses pasta, one starter, small glasses of wine, one coffee and a liquor euro at lunch time. Not super cheap, but very decent price for very good quality and ambient
I Monelli is very atmospheric, and used to be a much better place to dine. On this occasion, the service was chaotic and disorganised, and the dishes, particularly the main courses, sea bass (reluctantly filleted) and chicken in a mushroom cream sauce, were nowhere near the standard you would expect in a Dublin restaurant in its price category. We were hungry but neither of us cleared our plates. Perhaps the experience would have been better if we had stuck to pasta?
