We came a few minutes early for our 7:00 reservations and were told to wait while they cleared a table. It's normal. Then we sat, ordered drinks and waited for an hour. It was about 45 minutes that we were given soup and salad and the canal finally returned so that we could order more drinks. At least 3 tables in the value of people who went after us and sat after us immediately had a cook. Waiting for an hour to come for a cook to then start cooking is no fun if you are 9 months pregnant (or not)! We therefore made reservations... the cook was brilliant and once we were given food, everyone was happy, but at this point the hunger turned to the coat hanger and we really wanted to go because...
The sushi and the service were excellent . It was a Saturday night and they had the teppanyaki grills open and they were quite loud lots of happy exuberant customers. It was very cold that night and every time the door was opened you really knew it. So if I had any suggestions it would be to put up some kind of screen or even those heavy plastic strips to stop the cold air blowing directly into the restaurant. Having said that, the quality of the food and service was so superior that we would go back again even on a cold evening without any additional measures taken. Have to say though, I would prefer to go on a night when the teppanyaki grill was not open
Neat little sushi place. I would give him a 3.5 star, but this is not an option and will be on the side with more starts because I left my credit card there after I paid and the staff and server was super nice to get it back to me! We ordered sushi: Charleston Crunch, Alaska and Renegade. The reels were all good, but not fantastic. The service was great. Very polite and tight. The atmosphere wasn't bad. It could use some work that the place up a little, but overall was a good meal.
It's good, but not great. The sushi is really good and the other dishes are pretty good. I say the salmon meal is excellent. People and service are great and will fulfill most requests. I was here for a Japanese dinner / show and it's pretty good. This is likely where you would get your first job as Hibachi-Koch. The food is okay, but not great. Lunch is very good and quite expensive.

Our server James is a rockstar among waitpersons ; he was attentive and BUSSED the table; something I have noticed many servers seem to forget or don’t realize it needs to be done. Our tepanyaki chef, Lee, prepared our food perfectly . Although we don’t live in West Ashley, we will definitely be back. Highly recommended.
We dined early so the hibachi room was quiet. Service was efficient and very pleasant both server and chef. Food preparation was pleasant; vegetables were fresh and well prepared as were main entrees. Rice was quite subpar under cooked and no real flavor. All in all a very average experience
Had reservations at 1830. Sat at the table until 1915 before we had service. Understand staffing issues but that is why you make reservations. If you can’t meet the demand don’t accept the reservation.
The service was horrible we all got sick after eating there we got the table at hibachi an wasn't even a show all he did was cook really boring will not go back
