This little shop is on the Rue de Lausanne, a popular walking only shopping street, and is right on the edge of Old Town. It's only about a 10 15 minute walk from the main train station in Fribourg. The shop has two floors with lots of seating, cute decor, and comfortable couches as well as regular tables. The gelato (Italian ice cream we ordered was very good. If you haven't had it, it's more like frozen yogurt than ice cream. We tried Bailey's (my favorite , stracciatella, and cookies and cream. They offer at least 23 varieties handmade on site daily. Prices are fairly inexpensive, particularly for Switzerland. A waffle cone with 3 scoops was only 5 chf. (The cones are smaller than America...
We stayed in Freiburg on a Sunday afternoon and all cafés were closed. We found this place and on the first pass thought this was more of ice creams than a café. But we were falsely proven. We had some good veg sandwiches, crepes and ice creams. Good place with good seating.
Try the great selection of ice in summer and sit outside to watch the buyers. Or maybe you want to drink a real Italian spray and taste the appetizer special. I can't go wrong either.
In the branch in Thun for Gelato and it was pretty good. Enjoyable ice cream with creamy texture, but it lacks a bit sticky part to be called gelato. Anyway, nice on a beautiful day.
