This vibrant, somewhat noisy but fun pub-like restaurant was a welcome treat after several days of backcountry skiing in the Sierra. The staff were friendly, courteous and efficient. I couldn't have asked for more. The food was great. I selected a rather hardy meal (Chicken Scaloppini) with mushroom gravy and roasted corn-on-the-cob. But there were lighter choices as well. The desserts were also excellent, including a chocolate cake. I was by myself and just catching up on my cell phone messages so the big screen tv and the groups at other tables were background. However, I had brief and enjoyable chats with my waiter (Shari, I believe) and the manager (Martin) when they heard I had been ski...

The waitress seemed inexperienced and had difficulty understanding English, which affected her ability to take our order properly. She was confused about our food requests, and we never received one of the side dishes we ordered. It took us three requests over a span of 35 minutes just to get the check. Another waitress tried to assist but ended up giving us the wrong check as well. While the hotel itself deserves a 10+, the service at Iron and Oak was a complete disappointment—I'd rate it a 0. If I stay at this hotel again, I will definitely avoid dining at Iron and Oak.
Right or wrong, I was disappointed that the restaurant was in a hotel -my husband and I were looking for a good local restaurant before we headed to a show at the Fox. Not the mandatory restaurant a hotel should have... But we stayed and ate as we were then pressed for time and we were really glad that we did. We ate at the bar and the bartender treated us like the local restaurant we were hoping to attend. GREAT food, creative menu, great service and fun location after all.
I didn’t realize the restaurant was inside a Marriott when I made the reservation, but I was very impressed with the food! It took a while to come out despite it being very empty, but it was worth the wait. I got the mushroom bisque and the beet salad, both were delicious and presentation was fantastic. The waiter couldn’t have been more professional. Would definitely eat here again. Book a table now
James, our server, provided exceptional service at this restaurant. He was friendly, polite, and extremely attentive. Sadly, the food did not meet our expectations. The steak frites was overcooked, and the chicken dish was merely average. The zitrusbombe was overly dominated by grapefruit flavor. While my Amaretto sour was enjoyable, overall, we would not choose to dine here again.
I enjoyed the braised Brussels sprouts and hot wings during my visit. Both dishes were incredibly delicious. The chicken wings were crispy and full of flavor, while the Brussels sprouts were cooked just right.
I enjoyed an amazing breakfast in a high-end tourist area for less than $30. You won't find a better bargain in the Bay Area. Be sure to give it a try, and don’t let anyone deter you from experiencing it!
I had a fantastic breakfast burrito accompanied by a fruit cup. However, I wasn't thrilled about the price—I've never spent $18 on a breakfast burrito before! Book a table now
Excellent food. The service was superb. A little pricey, but was worth the price for the experience.
Was not like the pictures, I was catfished. This is a janky hotel restaurant.
