We used to visit Irv's frequently when I lived nearby and after our kids were born, but I hadn't been there in years. A few weeks ago, our son, who is now 35, came in from L.A., and we decided to go back. I have to say, it was the best breakfast I've had in a long time. The staff was fantastic, the food was delicious, and the prices were still very reasonable! Our son mentioned that you can't find a diner like this in L.A. that wouldn't charge three times as much for the same meal. I highly recommend checking it out!
This was my first experience dining out without my parents: my sister and I went to Irv's for a fantastic burger with grilled onions, sometime around 1967. Over the next few years, we returned many times. I wonder if it's still open after all these years? [I had to select February 2016 as my visit date since it was the oldest option available.]
