Island Street Bar & Grill

My party of four went to this restaurant on Saturday night, as we are regulars at their sister restaurant, The Winking Prawn, which we love. Our waitress was friendly, but unfortunately, the food was terrible. The halloumi we ordered was inedible, being raw and drenched in overpowering garlic oil. Despite not touching it, they did remove it from our bill. The mussels in the starters were gritty and very small, indicating they were not fresh. The prawns were overcooked and lacked flavor, while the ribs were good and the crab croquettes were okay. For mains, both crab salads were ordered, one specifying a pepper allergy which was not listed on the menu, yet the salad was still served with pepp...

The meal started so well. Yummy cocktails and the service to begin with was great. We got our food, and after that we were completely forgotten about. No offer of dessert menus, and we had to wait 50 minutes for our bill. In the meantime, they were trying to set up the live music around us, and were so desperate to try and get us to move that they opened the doors directly where we were sat (it was tipping it down outside, and cold). All they needed to do was sort our bill out, which we had asked for several times, and we would have happily moved for them. It was such a shame.

The restaurant has a fantastic ambiance and the staff are very friendly. They also have live music on Saturday nights which is a great addition. Definitely worth checking out!

The ambiance was pleasant and the cocktails were fantastic, but unfortunately, the food did not meet our expectations. We were hoping for a better dining experience.
