On Friday afternoon I visited the GastroPit for late lunch. They have outdoor seats, but I decided to eat inside. The restaurant is long and narrow with a window front, like many other strip-like shops. Dark floor and ceiling with wooden table tops a comfortable mood. It was pretty busy, but there was plenty of room at the bar where I sat. The bar sits about 8 10 people and has two TVs. You had sports, and the other one had the Discovery Channel I liked. The bartender and other staff who helped were particularly nice. Great. They made me welcome. It was a last minute decision to choose this BBQ spot. Not knowing what to expect we were a little anxious. The place is very welcoming, clean and staff was very inviting. The waiter was very helpful and friendly with our order. There was a little mistake on one of the meals, but we were informed and it wasn?t an issue for the meal. They actually added more meats to all our orders for a simple mistake we didn?t have an issue with. I have to share, the ladies in the group thought the young waiter was handsome with his what looked to be first mustache. My niece left a love letter on a napkin, sister tossed her bra at him and I still haven?t gotten a strait answer as to where the wife?s undies...
I rarely leave reviews, but this place deserves recognition. The atmosphere is humble, but friendly. They make cocktails with freshly pressed juices and handmade syrups. The sauces are all homemade and the smoked meat was terrible. I would recommend this place every time for food and service.
So amazing! The place is super sweet, food is amazing, and the staff beyond friendly! The terrace is beautiful on a summer day and word on the street is that they will eventually expand!! Very recommended!! Owners are fantastic and STL locals bring BBQ to the next level! A
