i have been to this restaurant a few times previous;y and have always found it good value for money, the service has been good and the staff have always been very good and friendly. I visited last week and the experience started with the pre meal drinks and the ordering of food but after that everything went down hill. We were a table of 8 with only another table occupied by 3 people and they were on the finish of the their meal and another table of 2 came into eat after. We had the same starters which was a mixed platter and after the first two arrived there was a long gap before the other two starters arrived. When it came to the main course, most of us had noodles which arrived very space...
We placed orders for drinks, starters and mains within 10 minutes of arriving. We then had to wait 40 minutes from our time of arrival to get tap water and drinks to the table, and even this was only after I approached the staff to remind them. Our starters then took another 10-15 minutes to arrive even though they had been ordered 50 minutes ago. When our starters did arrive, there was no cutlery on the table and I had to go to the bar to ask the staff to bring us cutlery. The restaurant is not very big, and the waitresses passed our table multiple times so it’s inexcusable that they completely forgot about us for 40 minutes. My friend and I had an amazing lunch at this restaurant. The menu was really interesting and offered a good selection of options at a great value. I must say, the vegetarian spring rolls were the crispiest I have ever had. My main course of chicken in sweet soy sauce with rice was delicious, but the portion was so generous that I couldn't finish it all. The waitress was pleasant, the decor was attractive, and the food was excellent for the price. I would definitely give this place five stars.
We just finished an absolutely spectacular supper at this restaurant. We found it by chance using Google to look for restaurants in the area we were in. The service is very friendly and attentive, the interior decor is very interesting, and the food quality and value is absolutely spectacular! If you get here early enough for the early bird special of a starter and a main you will not go away hungry. The chicken satay is highly recommended

Nice greeting on arrival, friendly helpful staff. Prices are very good, portion sizes are generous food tasty, it's a mix of cuisines so this is especially good. Thai fishcakes are full of flavour but slightly over done as were the grilled prawns, the fried rice was too salty for us, the satay is great the set menu is really good if you want a mixture of dishes. We will definitely return.
Jakarta is a well established Indonesian/ Thai restaurant on the Edgware Road, Colindale NW London. It serves variable delicious Pan South East Asian food at very reasonable prices. The lunch menu is brilliant value £12.99 weekdays or £13.99 Saturday’s for two substantial courses. The food is very good. Friendly service in a lovely charming Indonesian Bali styled restaurant.
We've been coming here since it first opened nearly 20 years ago. The food is still amazing. The lunch menu is great value and the staff are lovely. We've moved away now, so don't get to visit often enough. Jakata is about the only we do miss in Colindale and is definitely worth going back for a visit
The food at this restaurant is consistently good and the atmosphere is pleasant. I have been coming here for the past twenty years and have never had a bad experience. It offers good value for the quality of food and service. Highly recommend.
