I had lunch today, Friday, 9-2-22 at the JamRock Jamaican Restaraunt. I had the lunch special : Brown Stew Chicken Meal. I added side orders of plantains, festivals, j patties and a large Sorrel juice. I was in no rush; I had no particular problems on my mind. I was just Hungry. I positioned myself for my dine-in experience, by the far end corner of the high counter top table; with a bird 's eye view of the shopping center. Within, minutes, my meal tray was ready; steamed from the freshly dished, chicken, red beans and rice; steamed cabbage, all covered in that sweet and nicely seasoned brown stew gravy. I initially wanted to order the oxtail dish, but it wasn't available, so I opted for the curry chicken instead. Unfortunately, I found it could have been improved, especially in terms of seasoning. It seemed like it needed to be simmered or cooked for a longer time, as I didn’t get much curry flavor throughout the dish.
I plan to return in the future to sample some of their other offerings, hoping for a better experience.
The oxtail smelled and tasted very bad. It smelled like something was dead in it. The Oxtail dinner was dry very little Oxtail gravy. The whole dinner was so horrible I had to brush my teeth and wash my mouth out three times from the taste. And last but not least when I critiqued the cook. The Cook cuss me out. It’s a no for me. And this is coming from a professional chef.
Ok. First off this was a trial run for me. I ordered the j chicken platter. The presentation of the platter look so delicious. As I started to eat my food. The rice and pea plus cabbage was excellent. As I dug into the chicken it was tasty but tough. I’ll try back again soon to see if next time chicken will be tender falling off the bone

I had a strong craving for Jamaican food, so after coming home from dialysis, I decided to try this new restaurant. I ordered brown stew chicken for both myself and my dad, but it was a huge disappointment. The only redeeming part was the cabbage, which was decent. Next time, I'll head into the city instead of wasting my time here.
I ordered brown stew red snapper w/ rice peas with cabbage as well as a beef patty. The fish was the only good thing. The rice and peas tasted awful as well as the cabbage. The beef patty didn’t taste authentic either. Also, I didn’t even receive utensils or napkins. I honestly wouldn’t eat here again. 0/10 wouldn’t recommend..
The J Chicken was fantastic, although the rice wasn’t fully cooked and seemed like it might have been microwaved. This was my second visit, and I plan to return. I must emphasize that the chicken was incredible!
First time here not the last! Ordered there curry chick lunch special that came with drink UNDER 10$. It’s by far one best curry chicken i had meat fell off the bone 10 stars!

I had the J Red Snapper, i enjoyed it!!! Im only giving 3 stars because it was tooooo salty . I will definitely visit the establishment again and try other options.
I ordered the Ackee and Salt fish. It was excellent. They prepared it very well and there was no bones. I will definitely eat here again.
