This restaurant used to be called Vibes Jamaican, and it is now called Jamaica Sunrise Restaurant. Staff told me that only the name has changed. The owners are the same, so I put in a name change request on Yelp. The food here is very good. What makes this restaurant a stand out above the other Jamaican restaurants on the Island? The Okra and Salt Fish dish. I seldom see that anywhere. I guess a lot of people don't care for okra. I do. My parents cooked it all the time. Also the Christmas fruit cake is incredibly moist. Most other Jamaican restaurants need to put more rum in their cakes to moisten it up and give it more flavor. If you are ever in Copiague, stop by Jamaica Sunrise. There is plenty...

I ordered oxtail with rice and peas and a small jerk chicken. I've been to two different Jamaican restaurants and typically get oxtail, but this time, it seemed like there was more fat than actual meat on the oxtail. The rice and peas were mediocre, and the vegetables were just okay. I also got plantains, but I didn't enjoy them. As for the jerk chicken, it was a bit dry and lacked flavor. I might give this place another try, but I probably won’t order the oxtail or jerk chicken again.

I ordered the oxtail with rice and peas and a small jerk chicken. I've been to two different Jamaican restaurants and typically order oxtail, but this time it seemed to have more fat than actual meat. The rice and peas were decent, and the vegetables were fine, although I wasn't a fan of the plantain. As for the jerk chicken, it was a bit dry but had some flavor. I might give it another shot, but I probably won't order either the oxtail or jerk chicken again.

The atmosphere and the people are wonderful. I'm constantly drawn back by their coco bread and chicken and beef patties! Today, I'm planning to try their curry dinner and will share my thoughts on it afterward because I have a feeling it’s going to be delicious. Their fried chicken is quite tasty too. Book a table now

We enjoyed fantastic Jamaican cuisine and a selection of imported drinks at reasonable prices. My wife and I were very pleased, and our stomachs were definitely on board with our choices! Haha!

They must have anticipated my visit because I received a special rate of $22 for this takeout. It feels a bit expensive, don't you agree? I suppose it's a lesson learned.

I've been to many Jamaican restaurants, and the rice and peas I had here was the best. I also love the jerk chicken and cabbage, and the curry goat is simply amazing!

I tried the ackee and saltfish dumplings and banana porridge. I'd rate it a 1 out of 10; I only received 6 dumplings. Book a table now
