Naaaaaah man, they 're not getting me again. The place always looks a little run down but today when I went there, the glass door is all cracked up like someone must have thrown something at it. The only food inside the display looked to be escovitch chicken tenders or some sort of escovitch tilapia..idk. I drove there specifically for beef patties, sign in patty display says NO PATTIES . So I said ok, well let me get soup. I ordered a small chicken soup. Soup looked good. Ordered oxtail and red peas soup. The flavor of the oxtail was great but the meat was tough and chewy. A few peaces were tender but not evenly cooked. The rice and pease was good and soft. I def wished they put more veggies since I ordered half rice half veggies. As you can tell from the pic this was NOT half veggies The red peas soup was just okay the flavor was a little off. This place offers the lowest price for oxtail around at $15. Taking that into consideration, I'm still not entirely sure whether or not I'd give this place another try given there are def better options that are worth the $5 or $6 price difference
This was my second time dining here, and both visits I ordered the jerk chicken, rice and peas, and steamed vegetables. The highlights are that the jerk chicken is exceptionally well-seasoned and delicious. The rice and peas are good, and the steamed vegetables are standard. Overall, I will definitely return when I'm in the area. The portions are generous, and I really enjoyed the flavors. However, I was disappointed that on both occasions I visited, they were out of patties and plantains. I believe those are essential staples in a Jamaican restaurant, and I hope they can start offering the plantains again.
The portion of meat served here is quite limited, while they definitely don’t hold back on the rice and vegetables. Some days the curry is overly spicy, and other times the food is a bit too salty. Overall, it’s a decent place, but I can get much more generous servings, like oxtails and chicken, at Tropical J. I suppose it’s because they’re a larger establishment. I also understand that Jamaican Bickle observes the Sabbath, closing on Saturdays and only operating until sundown on Fridays. While I respect that, I do wish they were open on Saturdays.

This place has the best beef stew on Long Island! The only downside is that I've tried to visit twice before, and they were closed 2-3 hours earlier than the hours listed on two different websites. Other than that, the food is incredible!
The best after all these years! The consistancy and quality of food at this place made by one singular man is unbelievable. Do yourself a favor and go try a j chicken lunch with everything on top. You will be hooked.

Very authentic Jamaican flavor. Stew chicken was great, need to go back and get the oxtail! Food was quick and service was friendly. Will be back
