I visited the location in Vernon CT on Hartford Turnpike for dinner. I ordered the large fried chicken meal and my husband had the large j chicken meal. I have NEVER had Jamaican fried chicken like this EVER before! The coating on the chicken was like rock stone, the inside was very dry and bland. I was very disappointed with the food I received and the amount of money spent. My husband said his chicken was very dry as well. The only thing that was good was the oxtail gravy that I had on the rice and peas. The rice and cabbage was ok.I honestly feel like the fried chicken was a few days old and they just reheated it. I believe that the quality of the food at this restaurant has improved since the Covid pandemic. Previously, I felt that it was not fresh. However, after giving it another try today, I was pleasantly surprised. The bread was incredibly soft and the jerk chicken was flavorful. I had a delicious lunch experience. The price per person ranges from $10 to $20. I would rate the food a 5 out of 5 and highly recommend trying the Jerk Chicken Sandwich.
I recently dined at this restaurant for dinner and I was incredibly impressed with the food and service. On a scale of 1 to 5, I would rate the food a 5 and the service a 5 as well. The atmosphere, however, was a bit lacking, so I would give it a 3 out of 5. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience.
Ordered a medium oxtail with veggies and no rice. First of all, I was punished for not wanting rice and was charged $2 extra. then I was giving watery veggies with 4 pieces of oxtail. it tasted like Splenda. I hope it was a one bad experience and they're better than what I experienced.

I order a small stew chicken with white rice. what I received was two half pieces of chickens. The chicken had way to much season and spices and overcook. the price for this two pieces order including was $12.47 was overprices compare other Jamacian restaurants.
We ordered the Brown Stew Fish and the J Shrimp. Both were fantastic! I love the slight kick from the scotch bonnet peppers in the fish. Everything was cooked to perfection. Definitely will be revisiting this place.Food: 5/5
Literally everything is great here. My favorites are the j chicken, spicy beef patties and there to die for rice with their house sauce, it has a kick, watch how much you use lol.Food: 4/5
Customer service is not good, they act like I’m bothering them. The fried chicken is overcooked and awful. Dry and sloppy. The best thing was the white rice with no gravy , smh.
