Each entree was not consistent in flavor. There were some that tasted good, but they didn’t outweigh the other dishes that lacked flavor. Lobster and shrimp were overbooked. The drinks were amazing. Our waitress was great. She was very nice, patient, and considerate. The wait was very long, we arrived at 7pm and didn’t receive entrees until almost 9pm. My boyfriend and I had reservations for the fine dining area. Unfortunately, we were seated at a dirty table. The silverware had crusted food on it, the napkins had crumbs, even the small plates had food stuck on them. This was an awful first impression. We requested to move to an I her table. The hostess brought us plates and silverware “straight from the dishwasher” yet there was still food stuck to the butter knife. After that issue was put to rest, our experience improved. We were there for the happy hour. It was self seating and you can get a view of the lake for just about any seat. Portions were more then expected and very tasty. next time we’re passing through we will be sure to try for dinner. It seems a very popular place so call in for a reservation. Wait staff was very nice and attentive. We didn’t have to wait long for anything and didn’t feel rushed.
JB Hook's is very nice restaurant, with quite good seafood, at least for mid Missouri. Food is always well prepared. Staff are excellent. Just stopped in for gift certificates. Currently they have a deal around Christmas time, $125 gift certificates for $100. Quite a good deal. I have one of the best views of any restaurant at the Lake.

We love coming to Hooks! Especially to see the best Server/Bartender, Amber! Most beautiful view! The food is great but Amber’s hospitality is unmatched! She is always kind, patient, welcoming and efficient. Her gentle nature and beautiful smile (and the amazing wings and French onion soup! will have you coming back!
My friends and I came in for dinner and drinks Friday night and our server Cassandra was amazing!! She was very calm, attentive, and nice during such a crazy night. We'll definitely be coming back and requesting her to be our server again!
JB Hooks is Amazing! The food is always fantastic, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is wonderful. My wife and I both really enjoy dining at JB Hooks when we have something special to celebrate.
The service was outstanding, clean restaurant, beautiful view and the food was phenomenal. First time visiting but won't be my last.
