I make it a point to visit Jericho Cafe whenever I am in the area. I have dined there for both lunch and dinner and have always enjoyed the classic American cuisine. The meatloaf is particularly delicious and not something I typically have at home, but it is worth trying at Jericho Cafe. They have a great selection of local brews, a nice wine list, and some special mixed drinks for those interested. The Beef on Weck is a satisfying choice for lunch, as it is very tender. They also offer desserts and takeout options. When you arrive, you have a few seating choices. For smaller groups, I recommend sitting in the tavern or on the porch outside. Went for a family celebration. I ordered the Rueben for 17$. The meat was almost non-existent inside the bread. I ate the first half, there were tiny pieces. I bit the second half, no meat at all. I opened the bread, no meat, none. I showed the waitress who got the manager. He seemed upset that I wanted it removed from our bill. He then took the plate, ensuring I wouldn't enjoy one more french fry. I sat while my family ate. Their meals were good but my daughter's burger patty looked quite small. 17$ for a Rueben, the meat should be stacked high; this was the opposite.
A good friend treated me to lunch at Jericho Cafe Tavern for my birthday. It was a lovely July day so we opted to dine outside on their porch. I am Gluten-Free and had no problem finding tasty options. The scallops were delicious as were the truffle fries! Had no room for dessert but they do offer a delicious sounding Salted Caramel Flourless Bar. Maybe I will have room for dessert next time, as I definitely will go again!
Absolutely delicious food, cozy atmosphere and incredible service (Sean was super friendly, checked in on us often to make sure everyone was having a great night and even entertained our two over-tired boys)! Got takeout. Good vibe when walking inside. Food was good quality but the maple chicken sandwiches had no maple and no bacon.
Great place, been there many times, service was a little slow, probably due to it being a busy Saturday night.
