Heard a lot about this place and I was a bit disappointed. I got the seafood platter with a combo of fried fish and shrimp. The coconut shrimp were very good but the fried fish was horrible. It was not fried well at all. The batter fell completely off the fish and the taste was very bland. The picture I posted is deceiving. The moment I picked that fish up the batter came right off. Visited Broadway at the Beach today and decided to eat at Joe's. Arrived and the hostess proceeded to seat us all the way in the back by the kitchen. The restaurant was almost empty, so why she put us there I don't know. Anyway, we asked for a different table by the window. She acted like this made her mad!! She sat us at a table that had been cleared of dishes but had not been wiped off. I said the table was dirty and needed to be cleaned and she ignored me. We decided to leave at this point and told them on the way out why we were leaving and one of the hostesses, if you can call her that, actually laughed!! Bad, bad business!! I had hoped that our meal would be good here as the adverts would make it look amazing. I ordered the new fried maine lobster. it came with cheese sauces, an ohr of mais and garlic bread. the mais was the best on my teller. It was pretty good. the lobster bites were different and u will not complain about the amount, but the panko broting overwhelms the lobster taste completely. terrible eating. I said and showed the manager the $30 crawling bones I ordered had little to no flesh in them and she scrubbed her shoulders and said that all she could do would decrease 50% of the bill. I will never return to another joe’s crab shack.
We ordered the crab dip, which was great! However my dinner, shrimp and fish was less than appetizing. No flavor and kind of gooey?! I have mixed feelings because there were $2 mixed drinks so it could have been worse!
$28 bucket good... $49 bucket was horrible. Lobster was rubber, clams did not open and corn was unbeatable. Manager made good by bringing us a be lobster and clams. Second try was good. I would give it a 75% overall.
