Having been in Ulm for a Business trip, I found myself recently in a little bit of a tight spot, as it was Valentine’s Day and, of course, all Restaurants where pretty fully booked, including the one of Hotel where I was staying. Due to...it being a bitterly cold February evening, I decided to take a Taxi for the short ride into the centre and decided to trust in the local Taxi driver to recommend a place to eat. This is how I ended up at the John Benton Steakhouse on Valentine’s evening. Despite the restaurant being pretty much full to capacity, a friendly server greeted me and my colleague and took us to one of the last free tables. The ambience was very lively and welcoming and the staff...

In the evening of August I was looking for a place to have dinner. It was just about two or three hours that I had arrived in Ulm, city in which the number of restaurants isn’t very large actually. After having walked for a...long time I bumped into the Restaurant John Benton and steadfastly went into it. After a few minutes I realized that I had made the right choice. Inside the restaurant everything is beautiful. Wood is the prevailing material in its decoration. Some walls and columns are covered with dark brown wood. They match with the furniture: tables and chairs of the same colour, as well as with some low partitions, all of it being of a extreme elegance. A part of the lights consist...

We came here for a company dinner. We reserved a table for people in advance and we were given a big area at the back of the restaurant. There are German and English menus which was handy for our non German speaking colleagues. So...much to choose from! I had the pork fillet which was served with a sauce, lots of fries and big piece of garlic bread. I finished it all and I was so full! Other colleagues were very happy with their meals as well. The waitresses were so attentive and very quick to bring us additional drinks and our food. I didn't have dessert as I was so full, but I had a Baileys instead. A great restaurant and I hope to come back again next time I am in Ulm.

After a successful wander around all the old parts of this lovely town, I emerged from the Fishermen's Quarter and stumbled on the John Benton restaurant. They have a good number of chairs and tables outside with a view over to the old Town Hall...(Rathaus). I settled into a bistro chair outside and ordered a large glass of the local Gold Ochsen lager type beer Ulm's self proclaimed liquid gold. I then decided to take my time and embark on some serious people watching. Even though most other customers were eating I wasn't put under any pressure to order food, nor to move on. What a nice way to spend a relaxing afternoon when on vacation. Book a table now

I arrived early as normal, the reservation wasn't in my name but a table was quickly found. The restaurant was very busy for the time of day which is always a good sign. A drink was quickly brought and menu supplied, at this point...my friend arrived. i chose Onion soup and Beef Stroganoff for mains, the soup was really good, But the Stroganoff was amazing the creamy sauce was magnificent i am glad i went for the option of Hash Browns on side sounds strange but worked perfectly as advised by the restaurant they should know !? Service was very quick and efficient A must go destination if you ever visit this lovely city Highly recomended

I was with friend and I wanted to eat something in town, and we decided to go in John Benton Restaurant. We asked for a table, but speaking in English, because I’m working here in ulm but I don’t know German yet, and after a...bit of waiters we found the one that was able to speak in English. At the table we asked for English menu and they answered to us NO WE DON’T HAVE IT. Ok now I want to say: How is possible in that a restaurant doesn’t have English manu

The steak was good, and the potatoes were great! Nice beer options. The French Onion soup was satisfying. We enjoyed dining here in the town center. Nice place!
