Well I love the Fairfax one and so was not sure what to expect at the Brentwood location. We arrived a bit early for our reservation and they were telling us that they were about 30 to 45 minutes behind seating people. Because I had just drove down from San Francisco, I just needed to sort of unwind while I waited. They let me wait inside their wine store called Helens which at this location is at the front door to the Left, tall long semi roomy (compared to Fairfax being in the back and a tight squeeze and AC cool to wait in and compared to the muggy air outside was divine. They're known for their spicy fusilli pasta with vodka sauce, and I can definitely see why! That was our favorite dish, super flavorful and subtly spicy. The other pasta however wasn't as good. I forgot exactly what it was called on the menu but it was basically a fettuccine Alfredo with verde pasta our waiter told us it was arugula flavored. I would skip this pasta next time as it was minimally flavored and basic. The other dishes we ordered were delicious though, including the gem lettuce salad and the marinara meatballs with ricotta and garlic bread. Clean and modern place. Gem Lettuce Salad delicious salad, has a little kick but not over powering. Bronx Bomber Pizza pizza has a lot of flavor, had to control myself and not eat so much of it. Marinara Meatball it was good, maybe decent, it just was not amazing. Just a meatball and break was greasey. Mozzarella sticks were great, probably our favorite dish. I'm quite impressed with this restaurant. I tried the Gladiator pie, with sausage, bacon, pepperoni and ham. Very smoky flavor. Good dough, nice scortch, well made pie. Best NYC pizza I've had in Los Angeles since Grimaldi's. I would place it in my Tier 1 list (see profile). The calamari is from Rhode Island. That's the finest squid available in the US. It's also more expensive to buy. They make a good decision since it's a far superior product. I have to admit that I found it a bit odd they provided mayo instead of tartar sauce but the marinara was nice and spicy. Tom our waiter and the rest of the staff was very nice. The Spicy Fusilli was fantastic, bursting with flavor. The La Women pizza is also delicious, but I recommend enjoying it in person rather than through delivery or as a take-out option, as it may not hold up well during transport and assembly at home.
The service was excellent. I was hoping the food would be amazing. It was good and a place you need to try once. I had the gem salad, Spicy Vodka Fusili, and the Lola pizza. To drink I had a glass of rose and for dessert cannoli.
The pizza at this restaurant is exceptional. The thin crust is cooked perfectly and topped with exquisite pepperoni. Be sure to try the creamy Italian crust dipping sauce. The olive medley is beautiful, with a hint of spice.
If you like rap music and bomb Italian food, you'll love this spot.... spicy fusilli and margherita pizza. Order a side of meatballs too...and don't sleep on the cookies. Book a table now
This restaurant is always extremely crowded, especially on weekends, but they never fail to impress. The food is delicious and the service is good!
