We were really doubting to go to this place because of some bad reviews... The interior is so great, I felt at ease and so did my girlfriend (except that I stared too much at the charming waitress). I took the fish surprise and didn't regret that!! Amuse bouche was a nice rillette of fish. After I got a concentrated and rich bisque. Followed by a nice fish terrine with a lovely bouillon flavor. The St Jacques carpaccio was very good with a nice herb dressing and good acidity to balance. My girlfriend chose the St Pierre a la carte and she didn't regret. I tasted it and it was lovely. We had a nice supper here. Note the ‘nice’ not fabulous there were too many guests and too few people serving. We had a cod and leek amuse bouche nice, but served tepid not hot (had it been waiting around? . Then a medley of smoked fish (very nice and as a main, turbot on saffron risotto. This tasted nice,but was low on seasoning and the turbot was rather rubbery. The desert menu was bland and disappointing and SLOW! Eur 170 for the two of us, incl 1/2 bottle of decent Sancerre and a house champagne starter. I won’t be rushing back but it was okay.
The food was excellent but making a difference in the choices of the menu between customers did not feel good. There was more than one menu that evening. I did not have this choice, there was only a special menu (130 euro) for that evening. For all customers the same menu , were the words of the lady running the restaurant. This service level was not what I expected and I was not informed in a correct way before my decision to go there. So I was not very happy with this experience. It was a costly evening for me and my friends.
Restaurant recommended by our hotel for my daughter’s 21st Birthday meal. Slow service, disappointing menu, average food. Lady on the table opposite conducted a telephone conversation on loud speaker for 20 minutes. Shellfish watery. We skipped desert and would definitely not rush to return!
