The food here is pretty mediocre here. It's ok for a fast meal in a pinch but it's not good quality here. Out of all the times I've been here, The service is unprofessional to say the least. Quality- the hou fun was very salty and the vegetables are tough to bite into. The meat was also chewy so it takes a lot of chewing to get through it. The shrimp fried rice is standard....Nothing special. Quantity- an ok amount comes for the price. You will get full for a low cost. Atmosphere- I hate the chairs and small spacing between tables. This is one of the go-to places my friends and i always meet up at to catch up and enjoy a delicious meal. Whether it's their huge boba tea selection or their food, you can't go wrong with this place. The day we visited we were starving so we ordered quite a few food items plus a boba tea of course. They are always friendly and they try to seat you as quickly as possible. I love the vibes there because it feels like you're basically in one of the Chinatown restaurants it's really authentic. I am so disappointed. I've been coming here for 12 years since I started working in the area. i had not been in over a year. I always get the cubed steak over tomato rice. 1. it usually comes with a fried egg on top...no fried egg. 2. The steak was chewy like gummy bears(still good flavor) and little to no onions. 3. the rice was watery/mushy (unacceptable especially for Asian cuisin). 4. Gyoza was fried but still slightly doughy and internal temp was not Hot. I visited this restaurant once and found the food to be decent. The boba tea was delicious and the pudding was fresh. I ordered bulgogi with rice and chicken/shrimp with rice in pineapple, both portions were generous enough for sharing between two people. The service was efficient and our food arrived quickly. The prices were reasonable, although there were some slight increases due to Covid supply and demand. The restaurant has ample parking space and it was easy to find a table to dine in. Joyyee used to be my favorite place for boba drinks about 5-10 years ago when it was one of the only boba shops in Naperville. The quality is still similar to how it was back then, and is generally average. I usually order the taro or caramel milk teas, which are always a safe choice. However, I did notice that the prices have increased significantly (mine was around $7). I would say it's fine to visit if you happen to be in the area, but there are now many other places in Naperville that offer similar quality at a better price, so this wouldn't be my top choice.
Rude server. Tall guy working the night of 1/28 around 5pm with the big belly is rude and nasty. Scratching his back by lifting his shirt then bringing your food to the table. He was rude to my child I don't think he likes kids and was upset I didn't leave more tip on top of the 18% service fee. First of all they should inform you of the fee and second at least have a good service because this doesn't work. Also the bathrooms were dirty and the Venezuelan girl that works the kitchen came out and scratched her butt please look at the cameras. Never ever again!!
I haven't been to this restaurant in years. The service was hurried and extremely rude. I didn't realize that service could be so bad to the point where servers are demanding you to order immediately! I will definitely not be dining in here again. I might consider getting takeout if I'm really hungry and this is the only option nearby. The poor service really detracts from the overall dining experience. I would recommend looking elsewhere if you don't want to be yelled at while trying to ask about the menu.
Joy Yee's has always had Vietnamese and Chinese fusion right. They also have some korean food as well their take on bibmingbop is weird but delicious. Yes some takes are their own and it's still considered bibmingbop but their take on that particular dish the flavor are different but still delish. Still in a hot stone bowl! Fast service!! A gigantic menu with pics in the front and delicious drinks and food!! Love the place!! The garlic noodles were really flavorful and the drinks are so bright and pretty! Nice bright clean look inside and sunny yellow chairs.
