Such a great experience! A friend and I went out last Saturday for a little pub hopping. After having less than ideal service at the first place we went, it was so nice to get to Julio's and see that good hospitality still exists! The entire staff was amazing, from the hostess, to the bartenders (we sat at the bar), to the person who brought out our food. It seemed like all of the staff were having a great time, while still providing great service. I've worked as a server for 14+ years so it's really nice to see an entire room of both staff and guests equally enjoying themselves especially given the stressful last couple of years the service industry has had to endure!
I visited this restaurant on a Tuesday and they had a fantastic special on tacos and their signature bulldog drink. We ordered several tacos and were pleasantly surprised by the generous portion sizes despite it being Taco Tuesday. The tacos were all delicious and we also tried a variety of bulldog drinks, all of which were wonderful. We had a great experience at this restaurant, although the only thing that could have made it even better would have been some live music to enhance the atmosphere.
We decided to try Julio's on a whim and were pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious and the portions were generous (a great bonus). We sampled the chicken and feta enchilada, the flautas, and the chicken tacos, all of which were excellent. They offer many dishes that are perfect for sharing with a large group, and the atmosphere and decor were very charming. The staff was extremely friendly. Overall, it's a really great place and I can't wait to go back!
I love the Mexican food here. Especially the margaritas. The 1 oz doesn't quite do the trick so I'd recommend the 2 oz drink. Drink prices are a bit pricey but you can save money on food by sharing things like the fajitas. In fact, between 3 of us we have 1 order of fajitas with 1 extra meat added and it was more than enough. They gave us free extra shells too. Great restaurant. Also, they make their salsa in-house and it's very good.

Server was fantastic. Food was hot and huge portions. We started with the half order nachos with beef and guacamole. Needed an extra Salsa and guacamole, never enough of the good stuff. I also ordered the shrimp tacos. Only ate 1 lol I was full from the delicious nachos. My bf had the beef chimichanga said it was amazing. Daughter had the chicken fingers. Also looked good. Definitely been to long since enjoying a bulldog.
This Mexican restaurant in Edmonton is one of the best, located on Whyte Ave. I highly recommend giving them a try, although be prepared for a bit of a wait as it tends to get busy. The service may be affected by the crowds, but the food is definitely worth waiting for. Don't miss trying the fried Mexican ice cream for dessert, it's delicious. The chimichangas are also a must-try dish.
I firmly believe this place is overpriced for ‘Mexican’ food. However it is good food. I recommend the tortilla soup which I believe is a good price for the soup quality and amount. The chihuahua bulldog is very vanilla-ish.
Excellent shared lunch, amazing staff, great atmosphere on Whyte Avenue. Fun place with lots of people watching to go along with the meal. Meal sizes are substantial and three of us didn't manage to finish two shared dishes.

a well decorated place making you feel the deep style of Mexican downtown Food is great but CHILLI , music is purely Mexican makes you dance while eating. very cool for friends gathering
