After visiting this restaurant 1-2 times a year for the last 15 years we were recently saddened to revisit to find significant changes to the detriment of this long standing establishment. Gone was the jovial and engaging front of house staff to be replaced by the Chef (and I believe owner). His bullish, pushy and demanding manner put the entire family off and gave us a feeling that us being there was an interruption to his evening. We arrived only five minutes after the place opened. We were sat down at a tiny table tucked behind a wall close to the bar and entrance and served promptly. It was a Christmas in July special night and the place filled up rapidly. As quickly as it filled, the service and atmosphere deteriorated. Things rapidly became loud, crowded and slow. The food was OK, the draft Bitburgher and Gluhwein were excellent, but the stressed out manager (owner?) ruined an overwise enjoyable evening. It was a bit like flying Tiger compared to Qantas only with the full monty price tag. I've spent quite a bit of time in Germany and Switzerland visiting family and working and I thought that the Kaiser Stub'n faithfully recreated the German eating experience. The food is from the German speaking countries, mainly German but also Swiss and Austrian and they do a great job making it taste like it would in it's home country. This may sound like it's not a big deal but often you can't get the exact same ingredients here. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. The owners spent a lot of time in the dining room interacting with the guests in a friendly and non-intrusive way. The staff were friendly and efficient.We had a great night.
And again we celebrated an important occasion at the Kaiser Stub'n. And again we were not disappointed. Warm welcome by both, staff and Robert. The only problem we had was what to choose from all the delicious, authentic main courses. It was made easy for us by Robert, as we were able to "mix and match" our favourites.After soup and main we just fitted in the Apfelstrudel which was as good as possibly can be, just as good as mum made it. And the service was friendly and quick. No extended waiting periods as in some restaurants.Thank you for making a special event for us even more special.

My family and I have been going to the Kaiser Stub'n for many years now. Usually up to 12 people for a family birthday. Being Austrian I know what traditional fare should taste like. Robert's menu is superb, and every meal has always been outstanding. Ask our teenage grandkids and it is always their favourite when asked where they would like to go. Have recommended it to a few of my friends, and was delighted to get their feed back. They had nothing but praise, and will go again.So Robert and staff, even after being there for 23 years, we will always come back
This restaurant seems to divide reviewers. We found a pleasant restaurant with good, full of flavour food. The waiting staff did seem a bit over keen to upsell extras but nothing to worry about. There were a host of specials offered verbally and without prices, too many to absorb quickly and it would be much better to have a specials board or a printed specials sheet to allow you time to make a decision.We would certainly return to this restaurant.
Robert and his wife own and run this fabulous restaurant. They are the most welcoming people and always friendly. Robert often comes out of the kitchen and takes your order, helps with the menu and knows your name. The food never fails. It always comes out, hot, well presented and relatively quickly. There is a large selection of entrée, main and dessert. It is excellent value for money. You need to book as it is always full, for good reason
A real treasure. The food is truly unique dining experience of very authentic Austrian food. The service is first rate and extremely friendly. My husband and I have eaten all over the world and really know excellent cuisine and service. This place is it. Do yourself a favour.

Excellent authentic Austrian food. Very tasty and generous servings but a little on the pricey side. Overall a good experience. Some authentic music would make it complete.
I didn't like it the waiters were stub'n hahahahahah and this was overall not very nice. The food was alright like the chicken snitzel.
