I really want to love this restaurant, but as another review mentioned, the portion sizes are quite small for the price. I ordered takeout and got the eel roll for $11.95, but it was surprisingly small, containing only a few tiny pieces of eel. I also ordered two salmon rolls at $6.95 each, and they were just as small. I've had sushi at various places in Houston, and I was taken aback by how little you get here for the typical sushi price, especially considering it's not a high-end restaurant. The taste is okay, but I have to give it one star for the value.

This was our first time ordering from Kaishi Asian Bistro, and we got our food to-go. The salmon pieces in my daughter's Philly rolls were very small, and some rolls were missing both salmon and avocado. Additionally, the salmon was a pale pink and seemed to be of poor quality, especially for the price. I’m frustrated that we paid $58 for this meal—it definitely wasn’t worth it. When I tried to call to address the issue, the man who answered the phone couldn’t understand me.
I’ve had sushi in both the West and East Coasts, but the sushi here is incredibly fresh. Houston is truly competing with New York and California. It’s rapidly becoming a new hotspot for authentic Asian culture and delicious food.

The cheese rolls are remarkable and clearly made with care. They offer more than just your typical cream cheese rolls. They complement the complimentary grilled jalapeños perfectly. The service is also outstanding.
Sit down restaurant quality food in a food court with much larger than expected portions and friendly service. 10/10
