"Love this place! It may not be 100% authentic but honestly I don't mind too much about that considering how nice everything is. Really great sushi, everything is very fresh too. Lovely staff and great atmosphere."

TL;DR: A sushi train, which offers substantial enough sushi, and a kitchen serving up a few Japanese dishes. The quality is there, the food might not be absolutely authentic, but it is satisfying and filling for a quite bite to eat. In the midst of Kelvin Grove Village, Kawa Sushi is one of several options to get a bite to eat and is pretty much akin to the general eating vibe around here. The price is relatively right, the food is simple and decent quality and fits well within the student lifestyle. Overall, you could do worse the choices here are generally quite acceptable. It was yet again lunch time at work, and with the hour to fill in, it was time to suss a place out for a...read more

I ordered the Katsu Pork Don set today. The food was ok. It was a bit too salty that it required alot of rice to even it out. I only ate a spoon size and noticed hair in my food. The staff had changed the rice bowl for me, which was good. My friend's stir fry pork had an eye lash in it but because she was half way through her meal already she didn't bother. I was actually staring at the sushi chef. She had long hair and it was not tied up. Her hair was quite long that I think the ends of her hair can some times touch the food while she is making them. The sushi train sushi.... I stared at a salmon nigiri passing... a lot of rice, salmon slice was EXTREMELY thin.....

It was alright. It was my first ever bento box. It had 2 vegetarian spring rolls, which were great, then 2 pieces of prawn sushi which were pretty good although you could tell it wasn't too fresh. The lettuce was soggy and awful. Then the fried prawns were a little oily but edible. Overall ok, but could be fresher.

really reasonable price with large size soft bowl crab curry and Japanese rams, taste wonderful. curry is mild. ramen i would recommend the spicy. Anyway, there are more options on the list that I would like to try next time.
