Enjoyed this is a flashback to Aussie Chinese - and especially the prawn toast, honey chicken, beef in black bean and banana fritters were true credits to this genre of Chinese cuisine. I was in the mood so enjoyed it, with the exception of the combination chow mein which was too Aussie for my tastes, a bland mishmash. On request, we did get good Chinese greens in oyster so that shows there is authentic cooking in the repertoire. The restaurant looks tired and the clientele is if a certain age and era that still appreciates big portions of these Aussie Chinese classics, but it was not exactly bustling on a Saturday night. As a small group we dined at the Kee Kong restaurant. We all had a banquet which was filled with a variety of delicious food. The service was excellent and very appreciated. The interior was dated as another reviewer states but I found I spent my time talking and enjoying the food. The decor was fine and all commented on how the food was delicious. Would recommend to anyone seeking out a Chinese restaurant for a sumptuous and well priced meal.
I used to go here with my family or with friends and I used to enjoy their food but last time I took my wife there the food was sub par. We ordered the fried rice and the bacon bits weren't bacon we could tell they were devon or some other lunch meat. My wife's omelette tasted very odd we didn't get sick from it but to quote my wife it reminded her of wet dog for some reason. Usually its a good food experience but disappointed this time. :(
Had a nice Chinese feed at Kee Kong, Cairns. We ordered 3 dishes plus rice and weren't disappointed. The dishes seemed very authentic and when were were done, only rice was left. The lady/owner serving was efficient and polite. The only downer was the atmosphere, there was none. Only 4 tables while we had dinner and it was very quiet for such a large room. But still a very nice meal.

Had a large family gathering - couldn't go out and very felt like Chinese. We order 2 entrees and 10 main meals. There wasn't one dish that disappointed us. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Don't let the old Décor put you off at this place, the friendly service and Great Food certainly make up for it. My family and I have been coming here for years and have never had a bad dish.
Fantastic, try the fried noodle with prawns. Loads of prawn, value for money. Crispy Frey and tasty noodle. Cosy, comfortable environment. Highly recommended.
Food is ordinary, decode is usually ignored by us, but ordinary as well. Dining should be an experience not a chore. I can find much better for less in Cairns
