My husband and I went to Khons for dinner last night. We arrived about 7:40p and got on the waitlist for a table. We were advised it would be about 30-40 mins for a table. We said no problem and went to have a drink nearby. After 40 mins we went back to check on a table and were told they were sorry but didn't have a table yet. We said we'd go grab another drink while we waited. 9:07p we still hadn't received a text. We go back to check on our table and the lady says they closed at 9. I advised her we had been on the list and waiting for a table for an hour and a half and she said sorry, we did not have a table for you. We are now closed. Hot damn this place was GOOD! My boyfriend picked me up at Pensacola airport and we were both craving some Udon soup. I found this gem through Yelp! (Of course... is there any other way!!? . It was about 15 mins away, so my boyfriend grumbled a little bit about going out of our route. Well, once we got our food the grumbling stopped. We were both VERY pleased with the entire experience. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, the ambiance was cute and cheerful. No wait time to be seated was also a nice perk. First off the restaurant was clean and the staff very friendly and prompt. We ordered sushi rolls at lunch (restaurant was not busy at that point) and they took a very long time to come out. When they did come out they were just bland. Nothing had any flavor at all. The prices were okay for sushi but nothing was memorable or even flavorful. We've previously enjoyed sushi at Dharma Blue and Nom's (before they closed). Probably won't come back here again when there are other sushi places nearby we enjoy or haven't yet explored.
I decided to try this place out for my birthday.We were greeted by the nicest staff at the door. As soon as I walked in I had a good feeling about this place. We ordered some nigiri and hot sake that the waiter recommended and I tried the Cambodian Tofu and Rice. The appetizers and dish were excellent. This is my new favorite restaurant in town. my family and I have eaten some good Asian cuisine and khon had a unique mix of several kitchens. we had an equally great time to enjoy eating as we talked to chef dot. my family and I received such a warm welcome from him and loved to hear his stories. the hot chili garnels, crab rangoons, pork bells and tempura fried bananas were delicious, we will try again more dishes.
loved khon on palafox. we are here for a late lunch and eating was amazing. the food we ate was delicious and our waitress was wonderful. she was able to tell us in detail about each of the food we had asked about and was very accommodating to help us in the work to help some food allergies. will be back soon!
was too busy to make my friend a non-alcoholic drink, but had time to make others their alcoholic cocktails. inacceptable behavior. really disappointed. sobriety is not always the choice, her bar staff should be as equipped to make a non-alcoholic drink as they make alcoholic drinks.
Amazing? sat on the sushi bar and watched hard working people make plates and plates of beautiful sushi. so fresh and tasty. the young who make the sushi were very nice and great to deal with. I'm going back to p cola to eat here again. Book a table now
Awesome place! Great sushi. Lettuce wraps are really good and filling. Fried rice was tha bomb. Highly recommended.
