It was late past lunch rush hour so the place was pretty empty! I ordered my chirashi bowl, which came with salad and miso soup. The chirashi bowl was pretty good! It was smaller than other chirashi bowl for lunch I had, but it was perfect size for me. The quality of the sashimi was pretty good, especially the salmon. I did not care much for the other fish. The $1 beers are gone. Now, from 4 PM to 8 PM, they're serving $2 beers. My friend placed the order, and while the fish was tender, I have to agree with the recent reviews: their sushi is overly rice-heavy, and the portions of fish on the sushi have noticeably decreased. I spent nearly $50 on just three sushi rolls. I might consider returning, but I'd prefer to check out another local spot that offers more affordable options and a wider variety besides sushi. The server was friendly, but finding street parking can be a challenge.
My son enjoys ordering California Rolls and Miso soup. I've sampled various rolls and some of the chicken dishes from the kids' menu. Everything is fresh, and the service is excellent, whether you choose to dine in or take out.
I always get the Sashimi Roll. It is riceless, full of fish and flavor. Also try the mussels appetizer, they're amazing. Not much of a bar selection, mostly sake and beer.
