"Only one vegan option on the menu which was quite tasty. 5 7 vegetarian options but one had parmesan in it can ask to remove). Has Aspall cyder which is vegan. If you can get over the decorative stuffed birds and fox : then it can be a nice place to have a meal."

Unusually, King Edward IV's menu has a whole page of vegie mains, but aside from a great soup of the day, that's as good as it gets. My vegie main was £12 (compared to £17 for a good steak and was a *tiny*, flavourless potato-filled pastry- not even a bit of cheese in it to perk up the taste/ingredient cost. Plus, it was clear they'd quickly baked off the vegie dishes and brought them to table without co-ordination with the rest of the kitchen; our plates sat going frigid for another 10 minutes while the grills and pastas were brought out. (and pastry should be oven-hot- an already flavourless dish was overwhelmed by the taste texture of grease And the staff- they appeared quite nice but rep...

Amazing traditional old-world pub with an open fire, chunky tables on chains and lots of brass. Such a perfect atmosphere. They have three menus including a vegetarian one with eight options, three of which are vegan including asparagus, chesnut and sun-blushed tomato strudel with sautéed potatoes and pesto, wild mushroom and cashew nut stroganoff with infused rice, tomato and red onion salad and chickpea, aubergine and spinach dhansak with scented basmati rice, mango chutney and poppadoms. The fact that it isn't a strict vegetarian restaurant will probably put some people off, but they are professional and knowledgeable about different diets. It provides a great option to dine out with non-...

I was a few times at the king wants to eat once for lunch – I was not very impressed by the vegan choice, but they were very accommodating. the second time had drinks to celebrate my engagement - that was nice and the personal was so wonderful. I was recently for a family wedding. my dinner was really nice and unexpected - I assumed that the usual risotto and obstsalat are served - but they really made one up to make sure that my eating was as exciting as all the others. there was so much that I was really grateful that they gave me only fruit for dessert! really something special and they should put the dishes they made me in the main menu as they were beautiful.

My first visit and not expecting much from a traditional countryside pub. But pleasantly surprised to find a wide variety of vegetarian dishes and staff who knew what veganism is! Though only 3 dishes were vegan this gave us enough choice. One dish brought with cheese was immediately replaced with apologies. I don't think we would have found anywhere else in the area would could have given us more than chips and salad. The staff were cheerful and friendly.
