I have read some recent poor reviews about this pub which motivated me to put the record straight because they are plain wrong. I 've been using this place for maybe 6 years now. Pre-pandemic it was a great business, great beer and great food. Then two years or so of abject awfulness with a succession of bad management that really let the pub and its regulars down to the point of it being empty most of the time. Now! Hallelujah! The pub now has a team it deserves. The new managers turned the pub 's fortunes around in about four weeks of taking over which surprised me when you consider the neglect that preceded them but they are dedicated, professional and very hard working. The food is excel...

We made a reservation for the Sunday Roast at this restaurant. The food arrived very quickly after ordering, which made me question how fresh it was. The plates the food came on were only at room temperature, so the food was lukewarm. The beef was tough and had a lot of sinew. The stuffing was overdone on the outside and dense on the inside. I can't remember if the menu said the potatoes were roasted, but if they were, they were no longer crispy as they were buried beneath the meat. The meal lacked flavor. I couldn't help but think that the reason for the quick service and poor quality was because the meals had been sent back by someone else and then given to us. The waitress was nice and en...

We enjoyed a fantastic Sunday lunch today. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble, and they were attentive without being pushy. The portions were extremely generous, and all the food well cooked, with a choice of roasts and a good selection of starters and sweets. The place was spotless, with plenty of room. I cannot understand the negative reviews that have been posted. I have no hesitation in recommending The King’s Arms for a relaxed family Sunday lunch. We will certainly be back soon.

My wife and I ordered fish and chips at this restaurant. Unfortunately, we were disappointed to discover a couple of hairs in my food. I discreetly informed a staff member, who quickly walked away without acknowledging the issue. The food itself was very underwhelming - the fish was bland and tasteless, and it seemed like the cooking oil needed to be changed for both the chips and fish. Overall, we found the meal to be overpriced and of poor quality. Book a table now

Don't judge a book. First impressions weren't great as the pub.is a little dated but I now realise that all adds to the ambiance. Very warm welcome staff very attentive. Waited a while for our food but soon realised why it was freshly cooked piping hot and every meal was beautiful. Carry on doing what you are doing what a great find. Give it a try you won't be disappointed

Thought we would give the Kings Arms another go as new owners have taken over. We chose the Pork Belly Sunday roast which was very tasty, a great selection of vegetables and extra gravy. The burger was also very good, huge onion rings with a particular highlight being the truffle fries! Service was a little slow but we were not in a rush so it was fine. We'll be back.

I know it has new owners and good luck to them. But please give it bit of atmosphere. The music was dreadful, popular songs sung slowly by a nobody is so dull and 1990s. We had pie as the full roast is ridiculously expensive. The pie was ok but the tiny bit of pastry on top was silly. We will try again but it will be long while.

Less than we expected. The Barmiad appeared to not really know what she was doing or even what was going on. Sunday Lunch has dropped in standard. It’s £20 as well!! Below average. We should have known when they could fit us in at the last minute. It used to packed out. We won’t return. Book a table now

The restaurant has new owners who just recently took over, so the menu listed on the website may not be up to date. Despite this, I decided to try the burger and found it to be homemade and incredibly tasty. The staff was friendly and the interior was wonderful.
