First the positives: restaurant in the evening was pleasant, food was good and reasonably priced staff were friendly especially the gentleman who runs the bar if we had only gone for a meal the rating would be 4 But the negative was the hotel first room we were offered had a ripped chair, black mildew on the bathroom ceiling and furniture which was more than distressed. We then moved to a better room in the main building but it was still a mess of old mismatched furniture, a broken mirror stand and a tiny TV which barely worked. The rooms are worth no better than a 2 star rating. A shame as it’s a lovely village and setting.
Christmas meal with friends. When you’re dealing with large groups, especially at this time of year, it can be hit or miss…the Kings Arms was definitely a HIT! From the kindness and service given by staff to the quality of the food, this was my first visit but will most definitely not be my last (totally worth the trip from Taunton . Every aspect was superb and we cannot thank you enough for a wonderful evening. Oh, and enjoy the IKEA bucket hat ;
before here and eating was very good and an additional bonus for me is that they sell timothy taylors landlord that I could add was excellent, but unfortunately it went a little downhill from there, I had the pork that was no different from cooking home, unfortunately the whole experience was simply ok.
My whole family loved our Christmas lunch here. The food was great, the service was friendly and welcoming and we all had a great time. We'd definately recommend and we will definately be returning soon
