This place is a gem, located in the heart of Blaine. Each visit, I had a great experience and the food never fails to please and satisfy. The first time I visited this location, I was very pleasantly surprised by their decor, especially in their outdoor patio. It's the perfect place to grab a nice dinner and drinks with your friends. My Girlfriend and I came here on a Sunday night for a little dinner date and it was lovely. Sunday is all day happy hour so the drinks and food were all at a very affordable price. We had the new Takoyaki they just added to the menu and it was delicious! They were well cooked, the seafood was perfectly tender, not too much bredding, and the sauce was a perfect compliment as opposed to some places that drown them. I did not participate in the hibachi, but experienced the dinning room. First this would be a great place for a party. A large table was available for large parties (10+ . Otherwise the hibachi is always great for a more intimate celebration. If you are not there for a celebration, the surrounding g parties can get old fast. I do not say this as a Debbie-Downer, but because a happy birthday song blasts through speakers throughout the restraunt. Ordered take out recently, loved your chicken wings and grilled squid. Ours kids and nieces devoured your chicken wings. Crunchy rolls were delicious. I was craving grilled squid, and it was on point. I had Lychee Mojito and Martinis on different birthday occasion and they were refreshing and a perfect drink for a great friends get together. I have been to Umi 4 times everytime the service has been a rememberable experience! The food drinks have been amazing! You can tell they take pride in ensuring every customer is taken care of, even when I have been there at prime times. This is definitely a great place for a date night, group date night or even for some sushi takeout for an at home movie night.
My husband and I have ordered here a few times. Each time the food has been delicious. Tonight we ordered dinner for our anniversary and it was a huge surprise to see happy anniversary with balloons and harts drawn on the bag. Thank you to whomever took the time to do that and thank you for another amazing meal.
