The chicken NY steak dish was generous, 2-3 medium sized chicken breasts about 12oz NY steak grilled veggies (onion, carrots, zucchini, mushrooms) mushroom soup shrimp appetizer steamed or fried rice (prepared in front of you). I am blown away by the huge fried ice cream balls at this restaurant! The menu describes them as tempura ice cream. I decided to try the green tea-flavored ice cream, which was coated in a delicious tempura batter. The coating was perfectly crispy and flaky, creating a wonderful contrast with the creamy ice cream inside. The size of each fried ice cream ball is larger than my fist, and one order easily serves two people. If you're a big ice cream fan, you may want to order extra because these treats are too good to resist!
The food at Kisho is delicious, the Teppan chef is entertaining, the waitress is wonderful, our order is always correct, and the atmosphere is lovely. It is a great place to celebrate birthdays and bring out of town guests. Our six year old even said it was her favorite restaurant. While it is a little pricey for a casual night out, we still go regularly for special occasions. I highly recommend Kisho!
I have been coming here for 15 years now, and it has the best sushi in LA County. My favorites: spicy albacore sushi, the spicy tuna rice crispy, the red and white dragon rolls, the spicy cajun roll 'pork chop ' , and the rock and roll hand roll on soy. I have never eaten on the Teppan side, but I might some day.
