We wanted a light dinner and this lovely little place was near our hotel and highly rated. We couldn’t have chosen better. Everything was wonderful—the beer, the food, the atmosphere, and above all, the service. Although there was only one waiter on duty, we were so well attended to; the waiter was even happy to indulge my attempts to speak German. He intentionally spoke slowly for my benefit and explained in English when necessary, helping me to learn. My family and I had a wonderful time at this neighborhood gem.
We stayed at Hotel Laimer Hof and tried 3 of the nearby restaurants, which were all good, but the Kleine Rose stood out. It’s a small place and popular with locals. The food was gorgeous and plentiful. The service was great, the waiter had a natural friendliness about him, and the atmosphere was relaxed and easy-going. We had the most enjoyable evening and to top it all: the final bill was a good bit lower than in the other 2 restaurants. If I was living in the area, this little gem of a place would be my local.
Were staying at the Laimer Hof and decided to give this restaurant a try. The place which only accepts cash and has about 9 tables. It was packed with locals which was a good sign that the restaurant was going to be good. The restaurant was a gem, the food delicious and the guy who served us was really nice. We thought it was better than the highly regarded Risotto which was a few blocks down (which was good but we had just come from Italy and was not as good as the restaurants there).
It has been 3 days since we dined there and my husband is still talking about how we should’ve come back and how amazing the food was so I figured a review was in order. We were staying at a hotel nearby and were recommended this place with 0 expectation but boy oh boy it was amazing! The place is small and very charming and the food was just to die for. Great service too and great prices! Definitely recommend.
