Great service. Friendly place. It was busy when I was there... 4:00. I sat at the bar. Had a drink fast. You had milk to make my white Russians... Great plus! Few people. Fried mushrooms were hot and fresh. Pay attention to the parking lot. If it's tight. I would recommend Knob Hill Tavern. Plan to go back if I can. They are open on Mondays, unlike Crickets, Fat Boy Pizza....and have full menu unlike Jennings Street.
Delicious Catfish Filet Sandwich served with its ingenious Cole Slav. Madi service was teriffic. I feel obliged to comment on the restaurant itself. It's old, and the interior is a bit Drab (dark disguise), but it's neat and the fresh flowers on every table (and in the glittering clean bathroom) go a long way to brighten things up. The terrace is a beautiful place to enjoy a meal when the weather is beautiful.
Cool place to visit. Clean and friendly. No ton of seating, so I would recommend calling forward. All meals were pretty good and quite expensive. The hot fiddler they specialized in was okay. It is a fried catfish (or two). The PO boy was good as the fried chicken. For appetizers we have catfish and herb balls. The herbs are sour wort and cheese filled deep fried eggs. I enjoyed the most.
Knob is a very consistent place to eat and drink. The staff was incredibly friendly and eager to help, no matter the request. The menu has many choices and the list of tap beers is impressive. Our food arrived in a very respectable time frame and the beer was perfectly cold. We have been many times before, and we will be back again. If you haven't been to Knob Hill, treat yourself!
