Hello, I wanted to share my recent experience at Knox Tavern. I ordered our meals and drinks all at once, and everything seemed great as it had been in the past. However, during our weekly "bro night," I ordered a Scotch and Dry with a slice of lime for my brother. When the drink was served, it looked suspicious and my brother confirmed that it did not taste right at all. I took it back to the bartender to inquire about the ingredients, but she assured me that it was made correctly. After my brother still couldn't drink it, I returned it to the bartender and explained the situation. Unfortunately, the response I received was not satisfactory. I left the drink on the bar and no further action...
We have visited this restaurant before and had a good experience, but our most recent visit on Tuesday (9/5) was disappointing. The Gin and Tonic I ordered didn't have much gin flavor, which was unusual compared to past visits. One of my friends ordered a Caesar Salad, but the lettuce was brown and the croutons were unpleasant. The Seafood Medley was a mixed bag - the fish was cooked well but the other seafood was overcooked. The Fish Taco seemed like it was not given much attention, as it wasn't even heated. Overall, the meal was not enjoyable and it was clear that the kitchen had let standards slip. It was a truly bad experience and with many other options nearby, we will not be returning.
We’ve had a great lunch. The beef pie was so good that my friend was really satisfied. The senior meals was more than adequate for us: big serve and beautifully presented. We had coffee my mug of cappuccino was really smooth, full body with the bitterness lingering in the mouth. This was great coffee, nicely brewed by Lily. I was told she’s a trained barista which probably explained the great coffee. My friend’s latte was just as good. Worth a repeat visit.
Four friends had a great dining experience at this restaurant. They enjoyed a variety of delicious and generously portioned meals at a reasonable price. Two of them particularly loved the dessert trifle. The coffee was also good. The staff were friendly and attentive, as always. Special recognition goes to Jordan, who was working a double shift. His genuinely pleasant demeanor truly adds value to the bistro.
