The Godzilla roll was excellent. The hibachi was decent but nothing extraordinary. The customer service started off well, but we ended up waiting over 30 minutes for our meal with no clear explanation as to why guests who arrived after us were served first. We were told the orders were staggered because we ordered sushi, but the kitchen’s choice to delay rather than check when we wanted our food meant we sat waiting while larger groups came and went. The food was good, but the service definitely needs improvement.
Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted by an unpleasant smell that reminded me of a dirty bathroom. While the service was decent, I found the soda to be flat, and the small glasses were filled to the brim with ice, resulting in my glass being empty after just a couple of sips. I ordered the Godzilla roll, but it turned out to be quite disappointing and lacked flavor. The wasabi, which is typically very spicy at other places, was bland and seemed diluted. I certainly won’t be coming back here.
If a sushi and hibachi restaurant were to have the vibe of a dive bar, this would be it. The place has an unpleasant odor, and the sushi doesn't taste fresh at all. We were the only customers there on a Saturday night around 6 PM, and the service felt hurried. We've often questioned why there were never any cars in the parking lot, and now we totally get it. Also, just so you know, it's BYOB. I'm not sure how they maintain a 4-star rating.
I visited Koi Sushi Hibachi for the first time this past Sunday and was very impressed with the food. The fish, including yellowtail, salmon, tuna, and snapper, tasted incredibly fresh. Their menu offers a great variety of both classic and specialty rolls. The staff was welcoming, and our food arrived quickly. We will definitely return to Koi Sushi Hibachi to try more rolls from their menu.
