"Kooks Cafe is my go-to spot whenever I'm at the beach in Rye! The staff is always friendly and the cold brew and betty are my all-time favs!Vegetarian options: I am a vegetarian and often can't find good food options. Kooks, however, has many great choices on their menu for vegetarians!"

We went today and ordered the breakfast tacos and the spicoli sandwich. The tacos were very minimal and there is one egg split between the two 4” tortillas with thin bacon, cheese and cilantro. It is very little food for $8. The spicoli sandwich is lovely but there is one small patty for the turkey sausage that’s situated in the middle of the long sourdough slices. I think for $8 you can expect a second patty because you only get about three bites of the flavor of all the ingredients, otherwise it’s cheese, avo and spinach mainly. The bread and ingredients were fresh and ripe. We like to support local and drove 15 min to give it a try though we’re unlikely to be back.

Their smoothies bowls are perfect on a hot day! Or a cold day (I’m craving one as I write this on a cool overcast June day! the bartender is as sweet as can be and the patrons are fun to spend time with! It is a small intimate setting and I could imagine it quickly filling up. The serving sizes for their food are a touch on the small side, but the food is very good!My only critique would have to be that all the cocktail cups are filled to the brim with ice before they are poured… and they aren’t cheap cocktails… so you’re not really getting your money’s worth out of the bar, but the bar IS getting its money’s worth out of you!

This place is not to miss if you are visiting the Rye beaches. Just across the street from Pirates Cove, and a walk to Wallis Sands. This surf beach vibe bar has creative cocktails, and an easy quick service take out window serving up yummy bowls, tacos and breakfast. The service is always excellent. We are so lucky to have Kooks in our ‘hood, a unique alternative to the same ole fried fish down the road. Our favs are the Spicoli bagel sandwich, the Cubano, the pork bowl, and the fried plantains. Love this place!Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs w/c accessible

The vibes drew me in, the drinks kept me coming back! We ordered the **** Maria’s which were light, refreshing with a satisfying amount of bite. Super great staff, friendly and relaxed! 4 stars instead of 5 just cause the shrimp in our tacos could’ve used a little more seasoning and char for my preference. ?
