We came here for dinner on a Saturday night. It was nearly full, but the staff were friendly and attentive. It has a nice selection of wines by the glass we started with a Swiss Sauvignon Blanc and then a Pinot Noir. The gourmet...menu was a bit too meaty for us, so we ordered off the a la carte menu. A lamb's lettuce salad with fried goat cheese and yellow beetroot was very good, while a potato puree with oxtail ragout and red wine sauce was as expected. Wir waren zum 2. mal im Restaurant vom Gasthof Kreuz. Wie immer war die Bedienung sehr freundlich, obwohl unser sehr junger Kellner ab und zu etwas überfordert wirkte. Das Essen ist gut bis sehr gut. Leider wurden wir beim Dessert enttäuscht: das "Quartett vom Patissier" ("eine Auswahl") enthielt Yoghurt mit Fruchten, Glace, 1 Löffel Mousse au Chocolat und ein kleines Stückchen Cake. Dieses Dessert ist falsch beschrieben und für 15 CHF massiv überteuert. Bei mir war es das Hausdessert; auch hier: 3 Dörrzwetschen, 1 Kugel Vanilleglace und 1 Löffel durchschnittliches Mousse au Chocolat für 13 CHF. 50cl Mineralwasser für 7 CHF. schönes haus, genügend parkplätze.edle weinflaschen ausgestellt ... bis 18 liter flasche!service: nervös und nicht kundenfreundlich.essen war so la la gut, von den köchen mit den schönen kochhüten hätte ich mehr erwartet. nachschlag hätte es gegeben, wir verzichteten darauf. mach einem guten bierli eine gute spanische weinflasche aus dem priorat.was sehr ärgerlich war: für 0.5 liter hahnenwasser wurde chf 4.00 verlangt. deshalb kein trinkgeld und keine wiederholung.
The food is excellent, as is the ambience. The attention and support used to be excellent, but is now good. There was little question about health. It also bothered the four of us that today we were only allowed to choose the menu from the blackboard and were not allowed to see the menu. All in all, this inn can be highly recommended. We think of coming back.
