I was in the area after going to the mall, searching for a spot to grab a bite for dinner. Kuma Ramen came up with good reviews on Yelp and Google so we decided to give this place a try. We went around 6 pm on a Saturday and wow, it was insanely busy. The place isn 't very big about seven tables for four but all the tables were taken, people were coming in for takeout orders, plus many people were asked to leave the phone numbers to be called back when seating would open up later. At first glance when we came in, the restaurant decor made this spot appear to be non traditional but the conclusion is that this is an authentic ramen spot, run by Japanese folks! When we were seated, we were auto...

Hailed as the best ramen in Newmarket by foodies on Yelp and Google reviews; I've always been curious about this place. But somehow, some way, the stars do not align. Either I was in the area on a day that they are closed or my son's baseball game extends beyond usual finishing times and they are near the end of their business hours. The chance finally came after a noon baseball game. How does it stack up with the best in the GTA? I'd say it's solid for Newmarket, but at best average from a GTA standard. I ordered a tonkotsu one and my son ordered a spicy tonkotsu one. I think the spice was able to mask some of the soup's deficiencies. Their soup is not bad, but I just don't find it rich eno...

When I visited Newmarket, I searched on Google for restaurants to try out. I was in the mood for ramen and after seeing the positive reviews, I decided to check out this place. I went on a Saturday evening after shopping at a nearby mall. We were warmly greeted upon arrival by friendly staff. The interior was clean and beautiful, with tables spaced at a comfortable distance from each other. The restaurant had a steady flow of customers, both dining in and getting takeout. We ordered the black tonkotsu ramen, spicy tonkotsu miso ramen, and a side of karaage. The broth in both ramen dishes was flavorful with just the right amount of salt. I appreciated that the soup was hot and not lukewarm li...

3 years ago, this was the only ramen place in Newmarket. Now it's closing after 4 years, but other places will step into the gap this pioneer leaves. Tonkotsu yasai ramen was pretty good. The stock was a bit peppery. It had a lot of types of vegetables: cabbage, carrot, fungus, bean sprouts, green onion, bamboo mushroom. The chashu was tasty with a nice grilled flavour on one side. It could have better marbling be seared on the other side. Spicy tonkotsu miso ramen was pretty good. It wasn't that spicy (mild). Agedashi tofu was served too-hot inside, so we had to wait for it to cool down. It was silky tofu, lightly battered. The sauce was decent but it could have more bonito flakes. Ebi fry... The dishes were straightforward but expertly crafted. The tonkotsu broth was perfectly seasoned, not too salty. The creative touch of crispy, deep-fried mushrooms in the vegetarian ramen was a standout. Prices were reasonable, service was efficient, and the restaurant was impeccably clean. It appears that the staff are well taken care of, as they close for a lunch break at 3pm and are provided with meals. Bonus points for employee care!

The reviews for this restaurant are phenomenal. My wife and I dined here for the first time and were so impressed that we came back for dinner on another day. The quality of the food is consistent, the service is excellent, and the flavors are truly amazing. I believe this is the best ramen spot in Newmarket, without a doubt. My wife, who is usually very picky, absolutely adores this place.

Great little shop for authentic japanese ramen/food, the noodle broth is flavourful and chicken is juicy and tender worth a try. It can get busy during meal time though. They should probably change their old worn out wooden spoons (and chipped tray) though, frankly a bit gross and looked unhygienic. Other than that should give it a try if u crave for a bowl of tasty ramen.

Ramen was delicious. I had the one veg ramen option, which was the Yasai Shoyu ramen with shiitake mushroom broth. The rest are pork. The rice dishes looked really good, as I saw them at a few tables. Appetizers were fabulous. All in all, great spot for ramen, my only wish is that they offered more to drink. At least a small selection of tea. But water worked! Book a table now
