I have always loved Mr. Pis sushi. The quality was always the best and you didnt mind the slightly higher prices. When he moved out of Metuchen, we were devastated. When we heard he was back in town (Highland Park), we couldnt wait to order. Placed a large order and I am so utterly not impressed, and holy cow his prices do not reflect the quality in what we ordered tonight. The crispy wings were not cooked through at all. Fried gyoza was crispy on the outside and the pork inside was mushy and cool. The dipping sauce was mostly sesame oil and very greasy. Spring rolls and dipping sauce was my favorite. California rolls were warm and mushy. Miso soup was good. The other 4 specialty rolls were...

The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was friendly, but the sushi was just average. I found the ginger and soy sauce to be much stronger in flavor than I'm accustomed to (I've eaten sushi in many different places). The ginger had a chemical taste that was off-putting and overpowered the fish. I usually love ginger, but this particular variety was difficult to enjoy. The soy sauce was also quite intensely flavored. Sushi is a delicate dish and deserves condiments that enhance its taste rather than overwhelm it.
Must have been driven out of Metuchen because East Hana blows it out of the water. This tuna smelt an tasted fishy like out of a dirty bay. The spicy shrimp roll is laughable its tempura fried crumbs with a speck of shrimp wrapped in rice nasty! Order from East Hana in Metuchen. This restaurant wont last longer than its predecessor in this town.
I had a fantastic experience at the restaurant. Jimmy was playing the piano, which added a delightful touch to the atmosphere. Both the service and the food were excellent. I dined in and spent between $20 and $30 per person. Overall, I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all at 5 stars! Book a table now

The curry pork chashu ramen and the seafood ramen are fantastic! I've ordered from here many times, and it's always delicious! The prices are definitely worth it!
I absolutely love this place! I used to eat here when they were located in Metuchen, and they've never disappointed me. Food: 5/5, Service: 5/5, Atmosphere: 5/5.
This is the best sushi you can find! If you’re a fan of sashimi, be sure to try the Nuta! The "designer rolls" are absolutely incredible! Enjoy your meal!!! Book a table now
I picked up some food from the art market, but unfortunately, everything was cold and soggy. I'm not sure I would give this restaurant another try.
We really enjoy the Alaska roll, which features salmon and avocado, as well as the tuna and avocado roll.

"We enjoyed the tofu binh mah and the crunchy veggie-chorizo wrap. Both offered an explosion of flavor and texture. Food is ordered at the counter; staff bring it to your table. We lingered in the spacious setting enjoying conversation and vegan delights."
