Great experience all around here! We love the Lab concept and have been wanting to try Kuro for a while. Finally got the chance today. It was about a 25 minute wait for a Nacho, and they got pretty busy in that time. When it came out, the chef was worried about a hole in the pizza and offered to make it right however he could. He ended up bringing us some cream puffs and other pastry desserts that were simply sublime. The pizza still tastes wonderful as well! We really appreciate the gesture and loved our visit as a whole. Can't wait to return and try all the other combos over time.

This little gem of a pizza place is fantastic! The owners are incredibly friendly, and the pizzas are even more delightful. We tried the Thomas and the Nico. The Thomas had the flavor profile of an elevated deconstructed pasta, while the Nico was wonderfully rich, with all the herbs harmonizing beautifully. I noticed a comment mentioning that the pizzas are oily and lacking in cheese, but that's clearly a deliberate choice considering the price point and premium ingredients. The drizzle of olive oil on the pizza is just right for dipping your crispy crust.

I visited this restaurant for the first time, expecting artisanal pizza, but I was disappointed. I ordered the Nico and Cindy pizza, and I found it to be completely flavorless. As an Italian tourist in Costa Mesa, I can confidently say this pizza bears no resemblance to the real thing. The dough felt more like bread than pizza, and it was so sparse that it hardly had any cheese. If you enjoy bread, you might appreciate the dough, but I wouldn't call this pizza at all.

I had high hopes for this pizza, I love artisanal pizza! But I don't know if this is a different type of pizza I've never tried or heard of but it was paper thin in the middle and very soggy/oily.The cheese wasn't spread around and just chunky and in the middle. The crust surprisingly was good, it seemed to be whole wheat.Maybe we just got a bad pizza, that's why I didn't do 1 star. Five stars is not enough. It is 5:45 AM and my mouth is watering just remembering that incredible crust, those perfect ingredients. This is not just a pizza, it is a trip to a faraway land. That land, my friends, is called Pizza Heaven. Service is also excellent.

I have an inside joke with my friends about something being "Cindy," which means it’s familiar, appropriate, and just right. However, despite the pizza being named "Cindy," it certainly didn’t live up to that expectation.
