I can't recommend this sushi restaurant highly enough! From the moment I walked in, I was immersed in a delightful culinary experience. The sushi is absolutely exquisite; the flavors are vibrant and fresh, and the texture is just right. The menu is a paradise for sushi enthusiasts, offering a fantastic selection of rolls and sashimi. Oddly, I have been eating at the place for about 3 years on and off and it used to be excellent but after the sale and change in ownership things really went down hill. They were short staffed alot of times and service was lousy. The sushi quality was quite poor and I have eaten in alot of Japanese rests, as this was probably done to save cost. Also the last time I went- actually about 4 times within a 3 week period they were closed for 3 weeks-who knows why, sort of odd but for the best Kotobuki is still the best place to go and worth the price. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
A couple of months ago, I visited Kurofune and have since become a regular. The fish is consistently top-notch and incredibly fresh. You absolutely have to try the oyster yaki, and the ceviches from the sushi bar are my personal favorites. Not only is the food delightful, but the service is outstanding as well. The staff is wonderfully welcoming, friendly, and always attentive. If you're in the Long Island area, this place is a must-visit! Service: Dine in.
This is a fantastic spot for an authentic taste of Japan. It's owned and operated by Japanese individuals, and the sushi chef has undergone seven years of training in Japan. I've visited numerous sushi restaurants on Long Island and across the country, and I can confidently say that Kurofune ranks among the best—if not the very best—on Long Island! I highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates delicious, fresh sushi!
