Despite its dark, atmospheric lighting, Kyoto was one of the friendliest and most welcoming establishments in the area. While wandering the streets, my friend and I decided to take a chance on Kyoto for some Asian cuisine, especially sushi. We were pleasantly surprised by the warm greeting we received after our long walk. We were seated in a cozy dining area, with various seating options including tables for 2-8 people, Hibachi, and bar seating. I have been going here for months and everytime I love it. The hibachi meals are plentiful and delicious, the sushi rolls are resplendent, and I have never had an issue with the staff. However, recently (circa 05/2021) there has been a slight increase in price, one that is reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. I'm certain recent viral events are to blame but I would still recommend to anyone.
We ordered sushi last weekend from here. Their Halloween Roll is always going to be my favorite. There's also a fair amount of places I go to where they used regular salmon instead of smoked salmon for their Philidelphia rolls, making it so that the cream cheese has an off taste. Kyoto uses smoked salmon, thankfully, and even that roll is fantastic.
The restaurant had a lovely and inviting atmosphere. The bartender was fantastic and the owner, Mike, even came out to greet me. The sushi was fresh and delicious!
