First visit to calahonda and had walk round the town and saw this hotel restaurant which looked nice and busy so had high hopes. We were greeted initially by a very pleasant waiter that could not speak or understand english but was very eager to help he reminded me of Manuel from Fawlty towers . Our order was taken by a very rude what appeared to be head waiter after which my meal appeared just plonked in front of me no smile no eye contact and no meal for my partner. We waited 15 minutes then had to ask where the other meal was for it to arrive 5 minutes later nearly landing in my partners lap it was thrown down so hard on table. Las raciones son abundantes,los precios son buenos y para todo lo que estoy leyendo...siempre tenemos que reservar porque está lleno a la hora de comer. I visited here after a day at the beach with family. When initially looking at the menu it seemed overpriced,I don’t thing a plate of calamari should ever cost 25€! However the waiter was helpful and recommended the mixed fried fish plate (the small size is more than ample for 4-6ppl) we also ordered a salad and some potatoes. The fish plate was both generous and delicious,one of the best I’ve had. I have since looked at the receipt,which i of course should have looked at before paying and have realized we were charged 15€ for a plate of fries,they were put on the receipt as another item. Por un año, el restaurante va a empeorar, su menú ha disminuido mucho eliminando platos típicos de antes, como la ensalada tropical, también han quitado las raciones, es triste ver cómo se está decayendo y si continúa con la clientela es por la fuerza de la costumbre hasta que la gente se cansa. No es barato, y el lugar no es escándalo, si fue exitoso fue porque tenía todo lo que estás perdiendo ahora. Mal augurio le vaticino.

Very cordial reception and care. Good accomodation. All needs met. Diving base withion walking distance. Wonderful beach and interesting history. Mountain climbing within 1 hiour's drive. Old town atmosphere.
Went there for late lunch with family. Terrace directly by the sea. Had fish and salad. Clean place, good service, lovely fresh environment, and friendly attentive staff.
Since my last review of this restaurant it has improved a great deal. Same choices but quality and presentation is much better.
