I went there today and I tried their akasan for the first time. I don’t usually go there since my mom can make this, but she’s didn’t have the ingredients and I was craving it. First, it tasted and smelled spoiled. Correction, it was spoiled because my mom confirmed it later when I got home: The only reason I’m giving them 2 stars is because their paté ayisyen is okay. I’m talking about the flaky ones, not their paté kode. In any case, I will not be going there anytime soon. As for the akasan, that’s a never again for me.
The staff just hangs out and jokes around like teenagers, and no one answers the phone. I sat in my car, watching them completely ignore incoming calls while I just waited. My orders are consistently messed up. If I don’t ask for an egg, why are all three dishes filled with them? I’m just trying to find affordable options. Save your money. Things have changed; it feels more like a hangout than a business now.
We tried the chicken, beef, and cod fish patties at La Baguette on the recommendation of a friend. The patty pastry is flaky and tasty. The patties are very affordable at $1.15 each, but there is considerably less filling than in the empanadas and Jamaican patties we are used to. Also tried the sweet drink Akasan. Would return again if in the area.

The best Haitian delicacies can be found at Opposite Paté Kodé, and they are absolutely delicious. It's a small bistro, so service can sometimes be a bit slow, but overall it's manageable. The food is worth the wait, and I highly recommend it!
The pasta dishes are on point. It's a shame they haven't connected with the rest of the world by using services like DoorDash or Grubhub to make their food more accessible.
A client brought me a box of patties and I must say I was very impressed. The patties were amazing, in my opinion the best in NJ. Ill go back to order this weekend!
Customer service is horrible… if I could give negative stars I would.. business will go down hill because of peoples attitudes… food not all that either
