Let me preface this bad review by saying the food itself is delicious and is one of the things I miss. However we used to order here quite a lot though delivery and all was well. The one time I went to pick up my food in person I was made to wait about 10-15 minutes. No one was in front of me, as soon as another Spanish speaking customer/regular would come in they took their order before my own. This happened about 4 before I rose my voice and asked for my food. Which was ready and getting cold. I could tell I was getting the outsider look from the woman that worked there and they had no intention of helping or taking my order. I don’t understand how it takes over a hour to get food delivered to me less than 6 minutes away. I had to go thru two Uber delivery ppl and I had priority delivery but they had to wait so long for this order to be prepared. Then I get the food and it tastes gross. Also I wasn’t expecting when I ordered tostones with cheese for the cheese to be like this. Edit: To the response from the restaurant, ok so you didn’t realize you had my order for a bit. That’s all you had to say. Also it doesn’t say anything about it being an Ecuadorian restaurant on Uber eats and says Puerto Rican on google. This place is an absolutely amazing hidden gem! This is a hole-in-the-wall family restaurant that started back in 1998. All the food we ordered was very very good and authentic, and is probablyone of the best Ecuadorian food we've had. I would say, their portions are extremely generous and totally worth th price! You can definitely split one haha but suggest getting a bit of everything to share to get a taste. We ordered the Bandeja Paisa and it was out of this world delicious! The Mixed Seafood Ceviche has just the right about of sourness and is so good. This place is a must-try when you ever drive up to Upstate NY. La Cabana is consistently amazing! They serve delicious, authentic dishes that are always fresh and flavorful. My go-to meal is the Mar y Tierra (land and sea), which includes rice and beans, grilled chicken breast, grilled skirt steak, shrimp, fried tilapia, avocado, and tostones (which are hard to find at other places). You can also choose between fries or sweet plantains. They provide lemon slices and hot sauce upon request. The hot food is always well-prepared, with the garlic shrimp being a standout dish. The service is great, and you get delicious, authentic food at a great price. You can't go wrong with La Cabana! Book a table now
Nice and clean place. Every time my husband and I we were there we loved the food, the girls were nice and the owner of the place she is really nice and she takes care of her customers. Is very nice that they care about their customers. Totally recommend a warm plate if you passing by or you don't feel like cooking. Ps: the food serving does look like the picture
I don’t normally trust Spanish restaurants outside of NYC but since this spot was highly suggested by the team, it came out more than delicious. My plate had a lot of flavor and it’s very filling and I absolutely don’t have any complaints. This will be my go to spot when I’m in the Bear Mountain area for Spanish food.
Ordered grilled steak, rice and beans with sweet plantains. Added onions on top. Came with avocado. Best plate ive had in a while. Steak was tender, and grilled perfectly. Rice and beans were fresh. Avocado was perfect. Definitely plan to go back. Service was quick for walk in.
I am very particular about Latin American food, but after trying this restaurant, it has become my favorite spot in Peekskill. The empanadas are delicious, and every dish I have tried has left me completely satisfied. I also highly recommend the arroz con maduros. Book a table now
I recently discovered this restaurant and I am so glad I went. It is an amazing spot. The food is delicious and the staff is excellent. There are about 10 tables inside for dining in or you can order to go.
