I visited La Cadole five years ago and after my dinner there I knew I'd go back if I ever returned to Paris. It was not just that the food was excellent; I found that the owner Thierry was — how should I put it? — not just gracious but sweet, almost in a shy way.I dined again at La Cadole nine days ago, at the same table I had in 2012, and I had the same wonderful experience. Thierry was not only helpful and prompt as my server, he asked me about my "holiday," which is a much better word than "vacation." When he was outside attending to a solo diner at a table, he took the time to help a blind man negotiate Rue Mayet. He stopped to give another couple, who had no intention of dining at La Ca...
We visited La Cadole on recommendation from the concierge at our hotel, advising us that this was 'the special one' to go to. We were not disappointed.This is mouth watering French cuisine. And Thierry the owner was a delight to meet, he opened the restaurant 28 years go and is still passionate about it.I have visited many luxury hotels and restaurants all over the world and can say that while the facade might fool you (its a very small restaurant) its truly world class. Good enough to prompt me to write my first ever review here on TripAdvisor.PS if you like talking tennis, Thierry is a tennis fanatic :)
What a gracious welcome we received from Thierry when our group of 7 arrived for dinner. A mutual friend had so highly recommended this restaurant to us that we couldn't resist! From the first hello to the lovely desserts we were treated to the most delightful experience. Each and every dish was so delicious and honoring of the seasons. Thierry not only served us each course, he made the bread too. We savored every bite of fresh asparagus, Croustillade de pleurottes (mushrooms in puff pastry with cream sauce), Confit de canard and Moeulleux au chocolat. Everyone needs a friend with such wisdom.
This was by far our best dinning experience in Paris! We dined here on our second last night in Paris and left want to try so much more on the menu, that we returned again the next night for our final dinner in Paris. Thierry was an incredibly warm in welcoming us, the dishes are superb. Nothing pretentious here - just mouthwatering food and a most charming and gracious host.
